Font - Posted by u/Ziggy-Vibes 23 hours ago What was the final straw at your first serving job that caused you to quit? I'm at my wits end. Recently, I drag myself to work and disciate. My coworkers comment that I look like I'm not really there. My current job got me an apartment after I had been couch surfing for months, and I think that's the reason I've stayed for so long. But 2

Font - the money isn't worth it. I make maybe $1000 every 2 weeks for 70-75 hrs. But I stayed b/c it was easy work and as a single person in a small town I don't have a lot of bills or debt. So I haven't struggled for necessities luckily. But now the management has been dragging their feet to fix literally anything. I have 2 sinks in the bar that have been clogged for 3 months, a machine that leaks permanently and

Font - froze over last night, a dishwasher that is only half cleaning dishes, pipes that don't directly connect to a drain thus spilling water into the bar, non functioning glass coolers, soda that havent carbonated for 4 months, etc. There's no consistency in closing and managers blame everyone but themselves for the he"hole they created. As everything starts to break, I can barely keep my cool anymore. Its

Font - like they expect me to work miracles when I cant even find a clean glass. If its not residue in the glass from the dishwasher it's rust from the ancient coolers dripping onto the clean glass. All of which are problems they know about, I tell them everything, but it seems to be their last priority. They wont even tell me if there's a way I can fix the rust problem. When I ask for help there's none to be found. It disgusts me. Ive never felt so disgusted

Font - to work somewhere before. This place is a giant health department violation waiting to happen and no one seems to care. Corporate even came last week and chewed my managers out, literally NOTHING has been done since then. They're just dragging their feet. I ask for updates and it's "oh we'll get to that" or "oh we're working on it", but that's the same thing theyve been telling me for months now about other broken things.

Font - Today's a resume updating day and job hunting day. I can't afford to quit without my next job in place, but as soon as I can I will be out of this disgusting ce spit.

Font - kitten_inthekitchen 19 hr. ago We would send out mailer coupons every 6 months or so. We knew all the codes and expirations dates for each of the 5 that went out. This instance happened in June and the prior coupons that went out in January, expired the end of March. There was another round of coupons going out

Font - later in June. A lady and her daughter racked up a fairly high bill and as soon as I put the order in, the mom handed me a coupon for I think $10 off. I noticed the bottom that contained the code and exp date was ripped off. Not cut, just ripped so I couldn't see it. I knew it's expiration though because I had gotten dozens upon dozens of them between January and March. I said I didn't

Font - think we could honor it because the code wasn't there (I was trying to avoid saying because she ripped the date off and it had expired ~3 months ago). I asked her if I could take it to my AGM at the time and I did. Her and I looked it over and both came to the realization that she was trying to pull a fast one. My manager said "no. Do not honor it. If she

Font - would've just left it fully intact we might've, but that pi ed me off, and now she doesn't get to use it." I went back to the lady and politely said “I'm so sorry, my manager told me I was unable to honor your coupon because the bottom was 'accidentally torn off', so sorry about that." She proceeded to call me an a ole and demanded to speak to the manager. I called over THE SAME MANAGER, who

Font - then honored the coupon, gave them another server, and then comped even more off the bill for the inconvenience. I was at that place for 6.5 years at that point and then left not even 3 months after that happened. 122 Reply Share

Font - Gnar-wahl 20 hr. ago I was in an EMT class on a Saturday doing an ambulance ride along for an assignment. Manager called and asked me to come in. I told him I was in school and he said, "it's Saturday. If you're going to lie to me at least try to be smart about it." I quit on the spot and told him to go fɩ k himself. F you, Paul. Font - tsheff17 19 hr. ago edited 8 hr. ago I requested off for my uncles funeral, they scheduled me a double. 3 days before the funeral I worked my last shift, I told the manager all about himself in front of everyone, grabbed my tips from the register, and walked the fuck out. The owner called me the next day (10minutes before my shift) while I'm taking a relaxing bath to say they "were separating from me" and I responded "yeah that was the point of my walk out". Font - Diazmet 18 hr. ago A manger was stealing our tips at New World Home cooking and the owner Rick Orlando was just like owe well, nothing we can do about it. And to be specific our tip out envelopes would have like $80 written on them and then you'd open it and it would be empty. Font - Commercial_Layer 18 hr. ago Had me come in on Memorial Day saying how much money I would make and sat me in the back rolling silverware, because all the people that said they would show up showed up... I said I'm not rolling silverware for 2$ an hour. They gave me an ultimatum telling me to be a team player and I walked right out. Reply Share 70

Font - asap_boogy 18 hr. ago I was the GM of a bar. Got time off approved by the owner to go to my wife's best friends wedding, a 12 hour drive away. My wife was 8 months pregnant, so driving alone was out of the question. One of our bartenders put his notice in a couple weeks prior, but I asked if he'd extend his employment with us just another day so that I had everything covered while I was out of town. To which he agreed.

Font - The week of the wedding the owner tells me that he doesn't want this bartender to work because he's the one leaving us and it seemed desperate on our part to have him cover. Also, the owner got invited to a bachelor party, so he wouldn't be available to work as well. Then he pretended not to know about my upcoming trip. Saying that I was going to have to scrap it and stay in town. I told him that wasn't going to happen and that he knew d. nn well about my trip. He threw a fit, but eventua

Font - I later found the month from the calendar, which had my time off noted in his handwriting, was torn off and thrown in the office trash can. I'm guessing so he could try to continue to play dumb about the situation. I pulled it out and kept it, just in case. When I got back from the wedding he told me he was demoting me back to bar manager. I immediately gave my notice as I was about to take time off to be with my newborn anyway.
